On June 7, 2026, Upper Allen police officers responded to Oakwood Avenue for a call of gunshots being fired. This area is a residential community. Upon arrival the officers were fired upon by a resident within the home. Officers returned fire to stop the action. The armed subject is deceased and there is no current threat to the public. As this incident involved officers discharging their weapons, I asked the Pennsylvania State Police to assume responsibility for the investigation.
