The annual YMCA Turkey Trot will be held on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24th. The event will begin at approximately 0730 and will last until  approximately1030.  South West St between Willow St and Walnut St will be closed for the duration of the event.   The 5k trot will run through the southwest end of the borough.  The route will be from the YMCA North on S West St to South St, then will run West on South St to South Orange St. South on Orange St to Georgetown Circle.  West on Georgetown Circle to Orange St.  South on Orange St to Hillside.  East on Hillside to Belvedere.   South on Belvedere to Noble.  East on Noble to Wilson.  North on Wilson to South.  East on South to West.  South on West to the finish line at the YMCA.   This will cause some traffic delays in the South West end of the borough.   Intersections will be monitored by Carlisle Police, Carlisle Fire Police and YMCA volunteers.  Officers and volunteers at intersections will allow traffic to proceed during the race when it is safe to do so.   Carlisle Police ask motorists to be patient and  to plan an alternate travel route if possible.   Have a Happy and safe Thanksgiving.
