Snow Removal Safety Reminders from Camp Hill Police

Snow Removal Safety Reminders from Camp Hill Police

As winter weather has arrived, the Camp Hill Police Department would like to remind the community to work together to ensure safe and efficient snow removal. Your cooperation is crucial in helping our snow plow crews do their job effectively.

Stay Safe, Stay Off the Streets: When snow plowing is in progress, please avoid walking or running on the streets. This will help prevent accidents and ensure the safety of both pedestrians and plow operators.

Parking Etiquette: To accommodate our large snow plows, please park your vehicles in a way that allows for sufficient room to maneuver on both streets and side streets. In large public lots, park near other cars to enable plows to navigate and clear snow more efficiently.

Be Aware of Plow Trucks: Our snow plows are equipped with cameras, and safety is our top priority. Please be cautious around these vehicles and maintain a safe distance to allow them to do their job without obstruction.

Local Parks: As the snow falls, we know our community's children are eager to grab their sleds and hit the local parks. However, we want to remind everyone of a crucial snow safety rule: please avoid climbing or sledding on the large piles of snow dumped by our plow and dump trucks.

These snow piles are an active dumping site, and climbing or sledding on them poses a significant safety hazard. We understand the excitement of playing in the snow, but safety must be our top priority.

The Camp Hill Police Department is advising community members to refrain from driving to local parks during active snowing. Our plow trucks will be currently working to clear the park roads and parking lots, and we want to ensure everyone's safety.

By avoiding travel to the parks during this time, you can help our crews to efficiently clear the areas and reduce the risk of accidents. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this matter.

Let's work together to ensure everyone has a fun and safe winter season. Instead, find a nearby hill or designated sledding area in our local parks where you can enjoy the snow without putting yourself or others at risk.

By working together, we can ensure a safe and successful snow removal process. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Stay safe!
