Public Safety Announcement: Beware of Fraudulent Phone Calls or Text Messages

The Camp Hill Police Department has been made aware of fraudulent phone calls that appear to originate from our department's phone number (717) 737-1570. Please be advised that these calls are NOT from us.

In addition to these scams, be cautious of other fraudulent activities:

• You will not receive text messages or phone calls to pay parking tickets or citations.
• You will not be contacted to pay monies over the phone for warrants.

Scammers can manipulate caller ID information to make it seem like a legitimate source is contacting you. These individuals may attempt to obtain personal or financial information.

What You Should Do:

• Do not provide any personal information, banking details, or passwords over the phone.
• Do not send money or gift cards to anyone claiming to be law enforcement or other businesses.
• Do not withdrawal large amounts of cash from your bank accounts when asked to do so for contractors or businesses.
• Hang up immediately if something feels suspicious.
