On the evening of Thursday September 12th, 2024, the Camp Hill School District and Camp Hill Police Department were made aware of information which was being communicated among a number of Camp Hill Middle School students regarding someone (unknown) bringing a gun to the high school on Friday September 13th, 2024. After several hours of multiple interviews of students involved in these discussions it was determined there was no credible evidence or information of someone possessing a gun or threatening to bring one to a Camp Hill School District school on September 13th, 2024. This appears to be a continuation of national and regional social media postings suggesting vague reference to purported future episodes of anticipated incidents of school violence. Even though we concluded there was no credible evidence of a threat to any Camp Hill School District school, additional police were assigned to the vicinity of Camp Hill schools throughout the day as a safety re-assurance for students, their families, and Camp Hill School District staff. The school day, September 13th, 2024, went safely and calmly throughout the day without incident.
