The Bloomsburg Police Department is currently investigating criminal mischief to a vehicle which occured in the 100 Block of Murray Avenue in the Town of Bloomsburg. The damage to the vehicle was reported to have been caused by a pellet or BB gun, but when the vehicle was observed by officers it was discovered that the vehicle had been shot with a small caliber pistol or rifle. The vehicle had been shot three times, with of a bullet hole in the rear bumper on the driver side, a bullet hole through the rear window, and a shot which grazed the roof of the vehicle. The incident occurred sometime between 2100 hours on 9/1/22 and 0730 hours on 9/2/22. The 100 Block of Murray Avenue is not a high traffic area, and no other damage has been reported to other vehicles or structures in the area. The vehicle is believed to have been specifically targeted, though the owner of the vehicle could not think of any circumstance which would have made them a target.
