Pennridge Regional Police Officers handled 158 incidents during the week of October 20th to October 26th, 2024. A total of 54 traffic citations and warnings were issued during the same week.
INCIDENTS
Burning Violation: On October 20th, 2024, officers responded to a residence in the 000 block of Forrest Road for a report of a resident burning leaves. Upon arrival the homeowner was asked to extinguish the fire and did so with a warning.
Unwanted Person: Officers responded to Grand View Hospital on October 21st, for a patient who was causing a disturbance at the hospital following them being unhappy with medical care they were receiving. The patient was escorted to their vehicle, along with their family, and left with no issue after police intervened.
Attempted Fraud: On October 23rd, 2024, a resident of the 000 block of Reagan Drive contacted police in regard to a phone call they received. In that phone call the caller reported that the resident’s son was involved in a traffic accident and that a fee needed to be paid for their son to return home. The resident recognized this as a scam and terminated the phone call.
Stalking/Harassment: A resident of the 1900 block of Bethlehem Pike reported to police on October 23rd, 2024, that a known party had placed an Apple tracking device in their vehicle. The incident is still under investigation.
Unwanted Person: Employees of the Horse Tavern and Bar contacted police on October 25th, 2024, to report that a patron was causing a disturbance inside the bar. Police arrived and staff pointed out the patron and when police contacted the patron a strong odor of alcoholic beverage was detected coming from them. The patron alleged that the bartender had stolen their phone, when it was determined that the bartender had placed the patron’s phone outside in hopes of getting the patron to leave. The patron was given a ride home and asked not to return to the establishment.
Fraud: A resident of the 600 block of Old Bethlehem Pike reported that a Social Security check had never arrived at their home and was later cashed. The resident reported that the check was for approximately $1650, and that Social Security is investigating.
ARRESTS INCIDENTS
Drug Arrest: Tyler Berg, 28, of Sellersville, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia following the investigation of a minor traffic accident in the 800 block of Bethlehem Pike on . A court date will be scheduled in the future.
Terroristic Threats Arrest: Patrick Doyle, 53 of West Rockhill, was charged with Terroristic Threats, and harassment following a domestic dispute at a residence in the 2500 block of Schukraft Road on October 23rd, 2024. Mr. Reese made threats to the female victim, that included leaving a message on her phone that he would burn down her house. An arrest warrant has been issued for Reese.
TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS
October 21st, 2024: Officers responded to the area of Beechwood Drive for a two-vehicle traffic accident involving a Jeep Grand Cherokee that stuck a Mercedes Benz that was parked along the roadway. The driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee stated that the glare of the sun caused the vehicle to hit the parked vehicle. No injuries were reported, the operator of the Jeep was charged with driving too fast for conditions.
October 21st, 2024: A one vehicle traffic accident involving a Chevrolet Malibu was reported on Main Street in the area of State Road. The Malibu was making a turn into a parking lot and struck the curb and stop sign. No injuries were reported.
October 23rd, 2024: Pennridge Regional Police responded to the area of Fifth St. and Blooming Glen Road for a two-vehicle traffic accident. Upon arrival police located a International commercial vehicle and a Nisan Sentra in the parking lot. The International truck struck the Nissan as it was in the area of the loading dock.
October 24th, 2024: A one vehicle traffic accident was reported in the area of Bethlehem Pike and Rt. 309. Upon police arrival it was determined that a Can Am motorcycle had struck a deer as the vehicle traveled on Bethlehem Pike.
October 24th, 2024: Officers responded to the area of Rt. 313 and East Rock Road for a report of a Jeep Grand Cherokee that had struck a deer, as the deer crossed the roadway. No injuries were reported, but the Jeep had to be towed from the scene.
October 24th, 2024: A two-vehicle traffic accident was reported in the area of Allentown Road and Sterners Road. Once Pennridge Regional Police arrived they located a Ford Transit van that had backed into a Subaru Outback as van was backing out of a driveway following making an Amazon delivery. No injuries were reported.
October 25th, 2024: Pennridge Regional Police responded to the area of Lawn Ave and Ridge Road for a two-vehicle traffic accident. After a brief investigation it was determined that a Toyota Highlander struck a Ford Escape as it made a left-hand turn onto Ridge Road from Lawn Ave. There was no injuries reported at the time of the crash and the operator of Toyota was cited for violating the PA vehicle code and the Ford had to be towed from the scene.
