Pennridge Regional Police Officers handled 197 incidents during the week of August 4th, to August 10th, 2024. A total of 56 traffic citations and warnings were issued during the same week.
INCIDENTS
Criminal Mischief: A resident in the 2500 block of Schukraft Road reported on August 4th, 2024, that an unknown actor had broken their rear glass storm door was broken. There are no witnesses or suspects, and the damages is estimated at $300.00
Fraud: Daria Metal Fabricators contacted the Pennridge Regional Police Department on August 6th, 2024, following fraudulent withdrawals from their bank account. Upon investigation by the company’s financial institution, it was found that two withdrawals were made at two banks in the amount of nearly $97,000. The police department is working with the financial institution to investigate.
Theft: Pennridge Regional Police were dispatched to the 0 hundred block of Greentop Road for a report of theft of trailer. The trailer was reported stolen on August 7th, 2024, and was recovered in a parking lot along Rt. 309 in Quakertown. The incident is still under investigation.
Theft of Secondary Metals: On August 7th, 2024, BKG Company, located in the 2900 block of Clymer Ave. reported that they had several thefts occurring over the weekend of July 26th, 2024. The company owners reported that several pieces of air conditioning equipment were stolen from the property by two unknown actors, who were operating a silver Chevrolet pick-up and a Dodge Ram pick-up. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
Theft/Fraud: Draeger Medical, located at 3135 Quarry Road, reported on August 7th, 2024, that they believed they were a victim of fraudulent purchases. The purchases ranged in the amount of nearly $44,000, after an unknown actor impersonating a company that Draeger Medical regularly does business with purchased several gas detectors. When invoiced the believed purchasers the theft was identified. The incident is an ongoing investigation.
Suspicious Activity: On August 8th, 2024, a resident of the 5800 block of Clymer Road reported that they received a Facebook friend request from an old classmate. Once the resident responded to the friend request a brief exchange occurred resulting in an unknown party contacting the resident regarding a grant for funds. The resident recognized the activity as suspicious and most likely a crime resulting in them not responding. No loss was experienced by the resident.
Storm Responses: Our officers responded to 18 different reported calls for service during the high winds and rain on August 8th, 2024, due to the remnants of Hurricane Debbie. Thank you to East and West Rockhill Township Road Crews for their help in clearing downed trees and branches.
ARRESTS INCIDENTS
Ordinance Violation Arrest: Michael Maier, 59 of East Rockhill, was cited on August 4th, 2024, for violating East Rockhill Township burning ordinance. The Perkasie Fire Company and our officers responded to the home after a neighbor contacted 911 reporting an open burn at the Maier residence in the 2100 block of N. Rockhill Road.
Aggravated Assault Arrest: A juvenile allegation was filed after police responded to Grand View Hospital for a report of an assault on staff. Police investigated a complaint of a juvenile patient physically striking, biting and spitting on staff while being treated at the hospital.
DUI Arrest: Ryan Porter, 37 of Red Hill, was taken into custody on August 5th, 2024, after a traffic accident in the 2100 block of Finland Road. Mr. Porter allegedly used narcotics while operating his vehicle and ran off the road striking a mailbox. A criminal complaint was filed against Mr. Porter for DUI and numerous traffic violations.
Domestic Assault: Frank Andrew, 54 of the 8100 block of Covered Bridge Road was arrested following a domestic dispute at his property. Mr. Andrew is alleged to have physically assaulted a female companion after she threw a cell phone at him. Mr. Andrew was charged with strangulation, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault and associated charges following a brief police investigation. Mr. Andrew was arraigned by District Magistrate Geier and remanded to Bucks County Prison in the amount of 10% of $100,000.
Warrant Service: Tara Anderman, 42 of the 8100 block of Covered Bridge Road, was taken into custody following a domestic dispute in which it was found that Ms. Anderman was wanted by Montgomery County Sheriff’s for a DUI warrant. Ms. Anderman was remanded to Bucks County Prison to see a judge in regard to her warrant.
Criminal Mischief Arrest: Darryk G. Reynolds, 31 of Telford, was cited for criminal mischief following an incident that occurred at a residence in the 700 block of Allentown Road. Mr. Reynolds is alleged to have arrived at the residence of an ex-girlfriend and broken a glass windowpane in the door. The damage to the property was estimated to be to the value of $235.
Harassment: Darryk G. Reynolds, 31 of Telford, was cited for harassment following an investigation into a domestic dispute that occurred on July 27th, 2024. Mr. Reynolds struck an ex-girlfriend at her residence located in the 700 block of Allentown Road. The ex-girlfriend reported the incident on August 9th and provided documentation of her injuries.
TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS
August 6th, 2024: Officers responded to the area of Rt. 313 and Fifth Street for a report of a two-vehicle crash involving a Kia Sportage that struck the rear of a Ford Transit van. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
August 7th, 2024: A two-vehicle traffic crash was reported on Ridge Road in the area of Old Bethlehem Pike. Upon arrival of police, it was determined that a Hyundai had pulled out in front of a Ford Focus as it entered the roadway from Old Bethlehem Pike. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
August 7th, 2024: Police responded to the area of Rich Hill Road and Rt. 309 for a one vehicle traffic accident involving a Mini-Cooper. The operator of the Mini-Cooper failed to safely navigate the roadway and struck the large bank along Rich Hill Road. No injuries were reported but the vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
August 7th, 2024: A report of a two-vehicle crash was received in the area of Ridge Road and Rt. 313. The two vehicles involved in the crash were a Subaru and a Chevrolet Trax. As the Chevrolet made a right-hand turn onto Ridge Road from Rt. 313 it was struck by the Subaru. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were driven away from the scene.
August 8th, 2024: Pennridge Regional Police responded out to the area of Bethlehem Pike and Green Top Road for an accident involving a Subaru Impreza and a Ford F150 pickup truck. The Subaru struck the rear of the F150 as it was stopped waiting to make a turn onto Green Top Road. The operator of the Subaru stated they slid on the wet roadway. No injuries were reported, and one vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
August 8th, 2024: A Chevrolet Cruz and a Subaru Cross Trek were involved in a two-vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of Rt. 313 and Ridge Road. The Chevrolet Cruz rear ended the Subaru as it was stopped at the traffic light. No injuries were reported.
August 9th, 2024: Officers were dispatched to the area of Allentown Road and Ridge Valley Road following a report of a two-vehicle traffic crash. Upon arrival of officers, it was determined that a Kia Sportage had stuck the rear of a Ford Focus as it was stopped for the one-lane bridge. Minor damage was observed to both vehicles.
August 9th, 2024: A pedestrian was struck by a passing vehicle on Ridge Road and Old Bethlehem Pike resulting in the pedestrian being seriously injured. When officers arrived on scene, they found a male in the roadway unresponsive. The male had been struck by a Toyota Camry as he crossed Ridge Road. The male was taken to Grand View Hospital for treatment. The crash is still under investigation by the Bucks County District Attorney’s Crash Reconstruction team and the Pennridge Regional Police Department.
August 10th, 2024: Officers responded to the 6000 block of Axe Handle Road for a minor two vehicle traffic accident. Upon arrival it was determined that while two vehicles were traveling on the shared driveway in that area, they touched mirrors. The damage was minor and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
