Pennridge Regional Police Officers handled 167 incidents during the week of August 25th to August 31st, 2024. A total of 23 traffic citations and warnings were issued during the same week.
INCIDENTS
Fire Call: On August 25th, 2024 Sellersville Fire Company responded to Grand View Hospital for a report of a fire alarm. Upon arrival of the fire department several different fire alarms in the hospital were activated, along with smoke located on two different floors. The fire was located in a maintenance room and was extinguished by the fire department. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Pennridge Regional Police and the Bucks County Fire Marshall’s office.
Fraud/Theft: A resident residing in the 7200 block of Richlandtown Road reported that an order of silver bullion was placed in the amount of $12,500 and has yet to arrive at the residence. Police are still investigating and assisting the resident in recovering their lost funds.
Fraud: On August 27th, 2024, a resident residing in the 2400 block of Old Bethlehem Pike reported that they were defrauded of nearly $1500 after attempting a purchase on Facebook Marketplace. The resident attempted to purchase several items and began the purchase process with an online banking application, and once payment was made the items were removed from Facebook and the resident could no longer contact the “seller.” Police are still actively investigating this incident.
Trespassing: Officers were dispatched to Alto Storage, 1700 Bethlehem Pike, on August 28th, 2024, for a report of two known actors trespassing on the property. Upon arrival officers were unable to locate the two actors but were able to locate an area where they had been sleeping. No police action was taken at this time.
Threat Complaint: Officers responded to the Tohickon Campground on August 31st, 2024, following a disturbance in regard to visitor at the campground speeding. Upon police arrival it was determined that a camper allegedly nearly struck two juveniles that were walking along the roadway, and when that camper was confronted, they threatened to shoot the other person. The camper that was driving the truck was asked to leave the property and did so willingly, no police action was taken.
ARRESTS INCIDENTS
Public Drunk: Mark Clemmer, 64 of West Rockhill, was cited on August 26th 2024 following him being found intoxicated walking along Ridge Road and was cited a second time on the same date following him walking on Lawn Ave. following him being transported to Grand View Hospital after a fall. Mr. Clemmer was then transported to Montgomery Township for over night housing, until he was sober enough to care for himself.
Dog Law Violation: Kenton Exner, 19 of East Rockhill, was cited on August 27th and August 31st, 2024, for failing to confine his dog on his property. Police were called to his residence in the 0 hundred block of Greenleaf Circle after his dog was seen running in the neighbor’s yard and acting aggressively.
Harassment Arrest: Charles Joseph Campbell, 56 of East Rockhill, had charges of harassment filed against him following an investigation into numerous flyers being placed around the Pennridge High School with degrading messages directed at Mr. Campbell’s wife. A preliminary hearing will be scheduled in the near future.
Theft Arrest: Taamilo Taamilo, 43 of Lansdale, was charged with misdemeanor one charge of theft by unlawful taking following an incident that occurred at the Sunoco Station located at 928 Lawn Ave. on August 29th, 2024. Mr. Taamilo is alleged to have taken nearly $1000 in cash that was beside the cash register of the establishment. Officers were able to identify Taamilo by surveillance video and a vehicle description provided by the manager of the business. An arrest warrant was issued for Mr. Taamilo.
Drug Arrest: Joseph Cramer, 52 currently homeless, was taken into custody on a pending failure to appear warrant out of Bucks County Sheriff’s office on August 30th, following a report of a brush fire behind Alto Storage. During the course of the investigation Mr. Cramer was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine. Mr. Cramer was transported to Bucks County Prison.
Simple Assault Arrest: Maria Kelly, 63 of Ottsville, was charged with simple assault and harassment following an investigation at Grand View Hospital on August 30th, 2024. Ms. Kelly was being treated at Grand View Hospital, when she began to act disorderly and lashed out at staff. During the course of her lashing out she assaulted a security working causing a laceration, which resulted in medical treatment. A preliminary hearing date will be scheduled in the near future.
TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS
August 25th, 2024: Officers responded to the intersection of Bethlehem Pike and Forrest Road for a report of a two vehicle traffic crash. Upon arrival officers observed a Toyota Corolla and a Ford Focus had collided in the intersection. Following a brief investigation, it was determined that the Toyota had turned in front of that Ford Focus as it traveled on Bethlehem Pike. There were minor injuries reported and the operator of the Toyota was issued a traffic citation.
August 25th, 2024: A one vehicle accident was reported on Deer Run Road in the area of N. Ridge Road involving a Chevrolet Tahoe that was leaving Markey Park when it ran over two large boulders in the parking lot, causing serious damage to the underside of the vehicle.
August 26th, 2024: Pennridge Regional Police responded to the area of Fifth St. and Blooming Glen Road for a report of a four-vehicle traffic accident. Upon investigation it was determined that a Ram 1500 had struck the rear of a Nissan Altima, pushing it into a Toyota which ultimately struck the rear of a Chevrolet Silverado Pick up. The operator of the Toyota was cited for following another vehicle too closely.
August 28th, 2024: Officers responded to the area of Rt. 313 and Ridge Road for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident involving two Subarus. One of the Subarus was attempting a left-hand turn onto Ridge Road from Rt. 313 and was struck by the other Subaru. No injuries were reported and both vehicles had to be driven from the scene.
August 28th, 2024: Pennridge Regional Police responded to the area of Ridge Road and Ridge Valley Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash. The crash involved a Jeep Compass and a Nissan Versa, and upon investigation it was determined that the Jeep Compass had pulled out from the stop sign on Ridge Valley Road and was struck by the Nissan that was traveling on Ridge Road.
