Minimum Qualifications
All applicants must be at least 21 years of age, physically and mentally capable of performing the duties of a police officer, a U.S. citizen in good standing, be a high school graduate or possess a GED, and have successfully completed Act 120 certification from Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission (MPOETC) or be eligible for certification prior to appointment. The creation of a New Hope Borough New Hire police officer list and the hiring of police officers shall be done in accordance with the New Hope Borough Civil Service Rules and Regulations. A copy of the New Hope Borough Civil Service Rules and Regulations is available for examination during normal business hours in the office of the Borough Administrator. Application Process
New Hope Borough, by and through the New Hope Borough Civil Service Commission, is creating a New Hire Eligibility List in order to hire for the position of New Hope Borough Police Officer in accordance with the New Hope Borough Civil Service Rules and Regulations. All interested candidates must first take the New Hope Borough Police Officer written examination on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Applications are available at https://www.PoliceApp.com/NewHopeBoroPA.
Completed applications must be received by the New Hope Borough Police Department no later than 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, with a $40.00 non-refundable fee. Applications received after this date will not be considered.
The written examination on Saturday, August 29, 2026, will begin at 9:00 a.m. and take place at the New Hope Borough Municipal Building at 123 New Street, New Hope, PA 18938. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and all applicants must present a photo driver’s license.
