UPDATE - DUE TO A TIP BOTH SUBJECTS HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED - The New Hope Borough Police Department is investigating retail thefts that occurred on April 10, 2022. At approximately 1412 hours, officers were advised two female subjects entered 4 the Love of Thingz, located at 97 South Main Street, and attempted to steal an item. An employee of the store noticed one of the female subjects was holding a plastic bag. The employee could see an item from the store in the bag which had not been purchased. The employee confronted the females and instructed the subject to give her the bag. The employee called police. However, the two female subjects fled on foot. The bag contained 24 items including one piece of clothing, a plushie, and 22 pieces of jewelry. The clothing item, the plushie, and a piece of jewelry has been identified as being stolen from shops in New Hope. Two pieces of jewelry were identified as being stolen from a shop in Lambertville, New Jersey. The owners of the remaining items have not been identified.
