The New Hope Borough Police Department is currently investigating an attempt to use a stolen credit card that occurred on September 14, 2022, at 3:27 a.m., at Wawa located at 341 West Bridge Street. The credit card was in a wallet that was stolen from a vehicle parked on Swan Street in Lambertville, New Jersey. A female suspect entered Wawa and attempted to use the stolen credit card to purchase food and cigarettes. Surveillance video showed the suspect operating a black sedan, possibly a Nissan Maxima, enter Pennsylvania via the Lambertville New Hope free bridge at approximately 3:06 a.m. The suspect left Wawa and at 3:44 a.m. returned to New Jersey via the Lambertville New Hope free bridge. It appeared that the vehicle had a handicap placard hanging from the rear-view mirror.
