Doylestown Township Police are proud to participate in the Blue Envelope Program, a county-wide initiative driven by Bucks County District Attorney Jennifer Schorn. The program is aimed to assist drivers on the autism spectrum or who have another condition which may affect their communication style.
The blue envelope is designed to be stored with documents needed during a traffic stop. A copy of the drivers license, registration, and insurance can be readily available to hand to the officer. The officer will immediately recognize the blue envelope and employ extra care for the communication needs of the driver. Also included are optional blue envelope symbol stickers to placed on the rear windshield’s lower left-hand corner to help notify officers of the drivers communication needs while approaching the vehicle.
Our envelopes are available for free in our lobby or you may email Lieutenant Whiteside (jwhiteside@doylestownpa.org) to arrange other options for obtaining an envelope.
