A 48-year-old New York man was sentenced on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, to nine to 18 years in state prison for a spree of six bank robberies in Bucks, Delaware and Montgomery counties in 2024. 

Marc Masich, of Amherst, New York, was ordered to serve consecutive terms of 18 to 36 months for each robbery count by President Judge Raymond F. McHugh. Additionally, Judge McHugh ordered Masich to pay $20,255 in restitution and that he have no contact with any of the six financial institutions or six employees involved. 

The sentencing follows Masich’s court appearance on May 14, where he entered a no-contest plea to a first-degree felony charge of robbery and pleaded guilty to five other felony robbery charges. 

The conviction stems from a rapid sequence of events on the afternoon of December 23, 2024, that ended with his arrest by Bensalem Township Police Department. 

“The swift arrest and state prison sentence are the direct result of exceptional inter-agency teamwork,” said District Attorney Joe Khan. “The defendant targeted multiple communities across Southeastern Pennsylvania, but our local police and prosecutors worked together to ensure his spree ended swiftly. Our county is safer today with him off the streets.” 

 At approximately 5:00 p.m., Masich entered the TD Bank at 2751 Street Road in Bensalem wearing a black knit hat, black surgical mask, navy blue sweatshirt, and black pants. He handed a teller a demand note instructing them to hand over cash without trackers. The teller activated a silent alarm and informed him that the cash machine was inaccessible, prompting Masich to flee the scene. 

Thirteen minutes later, Masich entered the Santander Bank at 1425 Street Road while still wearing the mask. When employees informed him that he had to lower it, he left the building without incident. 

Shortly after, a Middletown Township Police detective alerted Bensalem Police over the radio that the suspect might be operating a small black Nissan sedan, which was tied to a similar bank robbery on December 12, 2024.  

At 5:21 p.m., a Bensalem Police officer checking the parking lot of the PNC Bank at 3707 Hulmeville Road spotted an unoccupied, running black Nissan sedan without a rear registration plate. Moments later, officers observed Masich running out of the bank carrying a white Bank of America bag containing approximately $4,000 in cash that he had just taken from tellers using a similar demand note. Officers took him into custody outside the front doors without further incident. 

During a police interview, Masich confessed to the robberies and attempts, according to a criminal complaint. He also admitted to committing three other bank robberies using the same note over the preceding month at Santander Bank locations in Langhorne and North Wales, as well as a Truist Bank in Newtown Square, according to the complaint. 

“This case is a great example of how timely communication and strong partnerships between local, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies lead to successful outcomes,” Middletown Township Police Chief Joseph Bartorilla said. “I’m proud of our detective, Jake Gallagher’s, quick recognition of the suspect vehicle and the collaborative effort that helped bring a dangerous serial bank robber to justice.” 

The case was investigated by the Middletown Township Police Department and Bensalem Township Police Department, and were assisted by neighboring municipal law enforcement agencies, the FBI, and the Bucks County District Attorney's Office. This case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney A.J. Garabedian.
