A Philadelphia man was sentenced Tuesday to serve 6 to 12 years in state prison followed by decades of court-ordered supervision for the repeated sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl in Quakertown.
Rodney Bass, 36, was sentenced Tuesday by Common Pleas Judge Charissa J. Liller. He pleaded guilty in September to statutory sexual assault and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16.
In addition to the state prison sentence, Liller sentenced Bass to 28 years of probation, resulting in a 40-year period of total supervision.
Judge Liller also ordered Bass to comply with Tier 3 Sex Offender, requiring him to register as a sex offender for his lifetime.
The investigation began on September 19, 2024, when Quakertown Borough Police were alerted to allegations of sexual assault.
Authorities determined that Bass was the boyfriend of the victim's mother and that the assaults began when the victim was 14 years old, continuing for a period of more than a year. During a hospital interview, the juvenile victim detailed multiple instances of sexual contact with Bass.
This case was investigated by Quakertown Borough Police Detective Ryan Naugle and was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Gabriella Simonelli.
