In response to a recent card-skimming operation uncovered in Bucks County, Bristol Borough-based Allied Electronics, Inc. has partnered with law enforcement to donate advanced anti-skimming technology to the All Fresh Supermarket in Bristol.  

In August, authorities identified a skimming device installed at the All Fresh store, 320 Pond St., prompting a public alert and an ongoing investigation into the illegal operation. To protect local shoppers from future financial fraud, Allied Electronics is donating a SkimBuster device to the supermarket.  

The SkimBuster is a handheld detection device capable of identifying deep-insert and overlay skimmers on payment terminals in seconds, without requiring hardware teardown or disrupting normal store operations.  

Last week, District Attorney Joe Khan and the Bristol Borough Police Chief Joe Moors warned the public after fraudulent devices were uncovered targeting unsuspecting customers, including families relying on Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards. One man was arrested, but police continue to seek a co-conspirator. 

“Card skimming is a predatory crime that directly targets working families who can least afford to lose their hard-earned money or vital public benefits,” District Attorney Joe Khan said. “Victims of EBT theft don’t have the same protections as traditional credit card holders. Once their funds are drained, families must wait the next month to buy food for their households.” 

District Attorney Khan and Chief Moors joined representatives from Allied Electronics on Tuesday for a demonstration of the device at All Fresh Supermarket prior to the donation. Store management and local law enforcement received hands-on training to conduct routine inspections across all point-of-sale terminals.
