Buckingham Township Police Department applied for, and received a grant for the Mobile ID Program.  This is a portable fingerprint identification system that officers can deploy in the field.  The technology is from Dataworks Plus, and will assist police with the identification of suspects and unconscious victims.  Officers are in the process of receiving training on the device, along with policy for use.  This new technology allows identification of known offenders that can be compared with fraudulent identification or fictitious names.  The utilization of Mobile ID will save time and allow the officer the safety of knowing who they have come in contact with.
