The Wyomissing Police Department would like to provide additional information regarding two incidents that appeared on recent daily blotter reports.
Incident One:
During the early morning hours of January 13, at approximately 1:50 a.m., Wyomissing Police Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Penn Avenue. During the stop, one individual fled on foot. Officers from Wyomissing and surrounding jurisdictions established a perimeter encompassing the 1200 block of Penn Avenue, Delaware Avenue, and the 00 block of Wyomissing Boulevard. The individual was subsequently apprehended.
Following the apprehension, officers conducted a search of the area where the individual fled to locate any items that may have been discarded; no items were found at that time. Residents in this area are asked that if they discover any type of suspected contraband on their property, they do not touch the item(s) and contact the Wyomissing Police Department immediately so officers can respond and safely retrieve the item(s).
Incident Two:
On Wednesday, January 14, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a burglar alarm at a residence in the 1800 block of Reading Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers observed evidence of forced entry into the residence. A perimeter was established, and officers conducted a thorough search of the interior of the home. No individuals were located inside.
Residents in the surrounding area, or anyone who may have been in the area at that time, are asked to contact the Wyomissing Police Department if they observed any suspicious person(s) or vehicle(s), or if they have video footage that may have captured relevant activity.
