Castle Shannon Police are investigating thefts from unlocked vehicles overnight in the area of McRoberts, Sixth St and neighborhoods bordering with the City of Pittsburgh.

A resident of Broadway Ave reported suspicious actors in the area around 330am. As officers were responding another resident reported that their vehicle was stolen from Martha Ave near McRoberts Rd.

Within a short period of time Brentwood Police responded to a large group of juveniles on Brownsville Rd and the call involved a stolen vehicle.

Our victims appeared to have left their doors unlocked and the stolen vehicle had the key left in the car.

Recent news reports from the region had vehicles entered that were locked, but the majority of thefts from vehicles are opportunity crimes and involved unlocked cars.

Please be reminded to lock your vehicle, even if it is in your driveway and please remove valuables from vehicles when unattended.

If anyone has information about these incidents and/or have surveillance video please contact Castle Shannon Police.
