On October 25, 2025, the Brighton Police Department took part in the DEA's National Drug Take Back initiative. This community-focused event aimed to collect and safely dispose of unused and unwanted prescription medications, thereby preventing environmental harm. The event saw a significant turnout, with around 100 individuals contributing over 200 pounds of pharmaceutical waste. The Brighton Police Department would like to extend its gratitude to all participants who helped safeguard the environment by responsibly disposing of their unwanted medications. For those who missed the event, a medication collection box is available in the lobby of our building during regular business hours. If you have any questions about our pharmaceutical collection program, please reach out to Investigator Renee Fischer at renee.fischer@townofbrighton.org.
