The Brighton Police Department recently welcomed a group of trainers and their canine companions from Guiding Eyes for the blind for a special tour. The purpose of the visit was to acclimate the dogs to the unique sights and sounds of police vehicles, the courtroom, and the jail. By doing so, the department aimed to facilitate socialization between the dogs and emergency services providers, as well as their equipment. This collaborative effort is crucial in helping the dogs adapt to diverse environments and fostering a stronger connection between the community and law enforcement.
