DeLand, FL – April 27, 2025 – Authorities are asking for the public’s help after a person was shot early Sunday morning in DeLand.
At around 12:06 a.m., emergency crews were called to South Sans Souci Avenue, where they found a victim with a gunshot wound to the right thigh.
The suspect, described as a younger Black male, fled on foot. Despite an extended search, including Air One, the suspect was not located. Witnesses stated the suspect came from nearby bushes and opened fire following a brief, unclear verbal exchange.
The DeLand Police Department urges anyone with information about this case to come forward.
