Stetson University honored DeLand police officers Tuesday night during Stetson’s baseball game for “DPD Appreciation Night.”

The opening ceremony included a presentation of the colors by the DPD Youth Cadet Honor Guard followed by the National Anthem sang by Captain Prurince Dice.

Chief Jason Umberger threw the ceremonial first pitch before the game started.  The event drew a large crowd as the Hatters took on the Florida Gators.

Our department would like to thank Stetson Athletics for dedicating the game to our officers.
