Monday's City Commission Meeting gave us the opportunity to do something we always look forward to: celebrating the people who show up for DeLand every single day.

The City was proud to recognize three members of the DeLand Police Department for significant career milestones and the dedication they bring to our community year after year.

Police Sergeant Ken Ramkissoon, 15 years of service. Detective Richard Cash, 10 years of service. Police Officer William Cooper, 10 years of service.

Thirty-five combined years of commitment, professionalism, and service to the citizens of DeLand. That is not just a number, that is a legacy being built one day at a time.

Thank you, Sergeant Ramkissoon, Detective Cash, and Officer Cooper. DeLand is better because you chose this work, and we are grateful for every year you have given to this community.
