On 1/25/19 at approximately 7:42 am the Columbia Borough Police Department was dispatched to the 300 Block of chestnut Street for a report of a male who was possibly under the influence and was repeatedly passing out, stumbling, and leaning on vehicles. Upon arrival the Officer observed the described male leaning against a vehicle with matches in his mouth. The male, later identified as Marlin William Straub, IV, 37, of Washington Boro was asked if he had any weapons or drugs on him and he stated that he did not. He was then asked if he had used any drugs or consumed any alcohol, to which he replied that he had not. While the Officer was patting Straub down he found a needle in his pocket. Straub stated that he had used the vile to inject heroin the night prior. Straub was placed under arrest and transported to the Columbia Borough Police Station for processing. Straub has been charged with Drug Equipment Violations. Note: All parties are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
