On December 4, 2018 at 11:15 a.m., Ephrata Police responded to a vehicle accident involving a retirement community bus on Rothsville Road, near the intersection of Royer Road, Ephrata Township.  A station wagon, driven by Nancy Nissly, 75, of Ephrata, struck the rear end of a Luther Acres bus, driven by Leslie Rineer, 68, of Lititz, carrying 13 passengers.  Nissly was transported to Lancaster General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  Rineer and four passengers from the bus were transported to Wellspan-Ephrata with minor injuries.  Akron Fire Company and multiple Ephrata area EMS services assisted at the scene.
