Welcome Officer Williams!

Police Chief David Splain welcomed Officer James Williams to the patrol division of the Nether Providence Township Police Department during the Board of Commissioners’ regular monthly meeting on Thursday.

Williams’ wife, Mary, held the Bible as he took the oath, administered by Commissioner Max Cooper, in front of community leaders, family, and law enforcement colleagues.
Williams, 30, began his law enforcement career in June 2017 as a part-time officer with the Sharon Hill Police Department. During that time, he also served part-time with the Tinicum Township Police Department. He became a full-time officer in Sharon Hill about six years ago.
“Jim brings valuable law enforcement experience and a strong understanding of policing in Delaware County. Throughout our hiring process, he demonstrated the qualities we seek in a police officer: professionalism, maturity, good judgment, and a genuine commitment to public service,” Chief Splain said. “I am confident he will be a great addition to our agency and to the community we serve.”

Officer Williams is a resident of Ridley Township. He is a 2014 graduate of Academy Park High School and a 2017 graduate of the Delaware County Police Academy.
He is the son of Jim and Patty Williams, who attended the ceremony.  Congratulations Officer Williams and stay safe!
