A North Charleston man was arrested Tuesday after police executed a search warrant at a mobile home in the 4200 block of Barnwell Avenue.
Officers with the Narcotics Detectives Unit and Intelligence Led Policing Unit (ILP) served the warrant around noon. When officers entered the residence, they found five people inside along with three aggressive dogs, which delayed the detention of several occupants who had retreated to a bathroom.
Investigators said the individuals in the bathroom had water on their arms and clothing, leading officers to believe they may have been attempting to destroy evidence.
During the search, detectives recovered approximately 24.8 grams of a brown powder from a bedroom closet, an additional 1.4 grams from the kitchen, and a digital scale from a cabinet. The substances field-tested presumptive positive for Heroin.
After an investigation, police arrested Christopher Thomas-Bailey Gale, 44, who lives at the residence, and charged him with Trafficking Heroin. He was transported to the Al Cannon Detention Center.
