On June 25, the DeLand Police Department was re-accredited by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation for another three years with “Excelsior” status for the second time.

 

Our Department went before a sub-committee and the full commission, answering questions about our assessment.  

 

Excelsior status represents the highest level of recognition given out by the commission, and is only granted to agencies who are committed to professional policing and are independently verified as operating at the highest levels of transparency and accountability.
