The North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) arrested a Greenville woman Saturday after officers say she intentionally rammed a vehicle occupied by three people following a dispute that began on social media.
Officers responded just before 11 p.m. to 1240 Remount Road after receiving reports of an altercation. When they arrived, they found three victims inside a vehicle that had sustained significant damage to the passenger side.
According to police, the victims had arranged to meet with a group of people at the location to address an ongoing disagreement stemming from social media. During the encounter, investigators say 34-year-old Ebonie Monea Haynes got behind the wheel of her vehicle, drove in a circle, and then accelerated into the passenger side of the victims' car.
Police said the victims managed to get inside their vehicle and close the doors moments before it was struck. Haynes allegedly fled the scene after the crash.
Officers later located Haynes and her vehicle, and then took her into custody. She was charged with First-Degree Assault and booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center.
