Officer Dawn Powell and Officer Connor Murphy graduated from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy on Friday and officially joined the department this morning. Deputy Chief Rick Keys had the honor of administering the oath of office during a special swearing-in ceremony.

In a meaningful moment shared with family, friends, fellow officers, and civilian staff, both officers chose their fathers to pin on their badges.

We are excited to welcome Officers Powell and Murphy to the North Charleston Police Department family and look forward to the contributions they will make as they begin their careers in service to our community.
