Just before 6:30 this morning, officers with the North Charleston Police Department responded to Church's Chicken at 5343 Dorchester Road following a report of a possible shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a man in the parking lot next to a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Police detained a suspect for questioning.

The investigation is ongoing.
