A Charleston County man was arrested Saturday after allegedly pointing a handgun at a woman and other motorists in North Charleston, according to police.
Officers with the North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) responded shortly before 1 p.m. to the area of Ashley Phosphate Road and Windsor Hill Boulevard following reports of a weapons incident. The victim told dispatchers that a man inside a vehicle was pointing a firearm at her and others as they traveled along Ashley Phosphate Road.
An officer later located the suspect vehicle traveling south on Dorchester Road and conducted a traffic stop on Ashley Phosphate Road. Additional officers arrived at the scene, and all occupants were removed from the vehicle.
During the investigation, the driver informed officers that a handgun was located inside the glove compartment. Police recovered the firearm, which contained one round in the chamber and 16 rounds in the magazine. Officers also found a second magazine loaded with 19 live rounds.
Investigators determined that 23-year-old Antonio Thaddeus Clark had pointed the handgun at the victim. Clark was arrested and charged with Pointing and Presenting a Firearm. He was transported to the Dorchester County Detention Center.
