Treatment Court Graduation Celebrates Success and New Beginnings

On May 28, 2026, the Erie County Courthouse's Courtroom H was filled with joy, pride, and a sense of community as the Treatment Court program celebrated its latest graduates. This momentous occasion marked a significant milestone for the participants who successfully completed their treatment recommendations under years of strict Court supervision.

Judge Mead, Judge Connelly Marucci, Assistant Erie County District Attorney Sam Bohen, and KataraLynn Hellein from the Public Defenders Office were in attendance to congratulate the graduates and offer their support. The ceremony was a testament to the power of collaboration and the impact that a supportive community can have on individuals seeking to overcome addiction and dependency.

Families, friends, former graduates, current treatment participants, local caregivers, attorneys, judges, probation officers, and other officials and community members came together to celebrate the graduates' achievements and show their support for those still on their journey. The event featured inspiring speeches from Judges Mead and Connelly-Marucci, who shared their insights on the Treatment and Dependency Court programs.

The graduates themselves took to the stage to share their personal stories of struggle and triumph, offering a glimpse into their time in the program and their hopes for the future. Their words were a powerful reminder of the transformative power of the Treatment Court program and the importance of community support in the recovery process.

As the ceremony came to a close, one message was clear: a community that sticks together, stays together. The Treatment Court graduation was a celebration not only of the graduates' achievements but also of the collective effort of the community to support and uplift one another.

We extend our warmest congratulations to the graduates and wish them all the best as they embark on their new journeys. We also express our deepest gratitude to the judges, officials, and community members who make the Treatment Court program possible.
