As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of our young residents, the City of Erie would like to remind parents, guardians, and youth of the city's year-round curfew for individuals under the age of 18.
According to city ordinance, anyone under 18 must be home between the hours of 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. This curfew is in place to protect our youth and help prevent potential risks associated with being out late at night without adult supervision.
There are, however, exceptions to this rule. In the case of an emergency, youth may be out during curfew hours. Additionally, if a young person is accompanied by a parent or guardian, they are exempt from the curfew.
We encourage all parents and guardians to review the curfew rules with their children and ensure they understand the importance of adhering to this ordinance. By working together, we can help keep our youth safe and secure.
Remember: Safety is everyone's responsibility!
