On 05/04/236 at 1:15 pm, the Ephrata Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a motorcycle in the 100 block of S. Reading Road Ephrata Borough.  The operator of the motorcycle, Lukus Mercer (24) of Ephrata attempted to flee from police and was subsequently brought to a stop in the 800 block of Grandview Drive, Ephrata Borough.  Mercer was arrested and charged with Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer and numerous traffic moving violations.  Mercer was transported to Lancaster County Central Booking, arraigned by the night court judge, and ultimately committed into the Lancaster County Prison, failing to post bail. Mercer is presumed innocent.
