Early this morning, North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) officers were patrolling when they overheard multiple gunshots in the area of Interstate 26 & 526 around 3:15am. Officers spread out and canvassed the communities and business districts in that vicinity. Shortly thereafter, a gunshot victim arrived at a nearby medical facility. While receiving medical treatment, the adult male victim told officers he had been shot on I-26. Officers located and collected evidence of the shooting on I-26 eastbound, just before W. Montague Ave.

The investigation remains ongoing, as NCPD works to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. No arrests have been made at this time.
