On Thursday, March 12, 2026 at approximately 1:23 p.m., the Ephrata Police Department responded to a residence on Grant St in Ephrata Borough for the report of a domestic violence involving a firearm.  Shortly after officers arrived on scene, 47 year-old Frederick Vasquez of Wernersville, Pa exited the residence and fled from police.  After a foot pursuit between homes, Vasquez was taken into custody by officers.  Vasquez was in possession of handgun he was prohibited from possessing, a large amount of suspected cocaine, packaging material and a large sum of cash.  The residents of the home were not injured as was initially reported.  Vasquez was charged and taken to Lancaster County Prison for arraignment where bail was set at $75,000.00.  Vasquez was unable to post bail and committed to prison.

Vasquez is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
