The North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) Traffic Unit and the Charleston County Coroner's Office are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Tuesday evening.

Preliminary findings indicate that a fatal collision occurred just before 7pm., on I-526 westbound near the overpass for W. Montague. An adult female pedestrian was walking on the Interstate when she was struck by two separate vehicles. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on-scene. Both vehicles remained on-scene. At this point, no charges are anticipated as a result of the ongoing investigation.

The Charleston County Coroner's Office will release the identity of the pedestrian at a later time.
