The East Hempfield Township Police Department is currently accepting resumes with cover letters from interested and qualified candidates for the position of Police Officer. Candidates are requested to submit their resume and cover letter to the attention of Chief Jennifer Brubaker. Documents can be dropped off at the police station Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm, sent via mail, or sent via e-mail to: pohlem@ehpd.org .
The deadline for receipt of resume and cover letter is March 27th at 4:00 p.m.
All received resumes and cover letters will be reviewed. Those applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be sent instructions to apply by completing a personal history questionnaire, and submit additional documentation via the Guardian Alliance portal. Resumes received without a cover letter will be rejected.

The EHTPD is seeking candidates who wish to enjoy a work environment dedicated to community service and law enforcement within a value guided police agency. We are seeking motivated police officers who possess a strong drive for self-initiated police work while operating within a team-based environment. GENERAL INFORMATION
The East Hempfield Township Police Department was formed in July 1963
and has grown to a current staff of 36 police officers and 4 civilian support employees. The department is responsible for a jurisdiction covering 21 square miles with 140 miles of roadway, and containing a population in excess of 26,000. The community is the third most populous of Lancaster County’s 60 municipalities, and consists of a mixture of residential, commercial, manufacturing, and agricultural areas. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
-Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
-Must be able to perform essential job functions and complete a competitive process including but not limited to oral interviews, physical and psychological examination, polygraph examination, and comprehensive background investigation.
-Must possess a high school diploma or GED Equivalency
-Must have a valid PA operator's license at the time of application deadline
-Must be legally eligible to work in the United States and provide proof of citizenship.
-Must meet or exceed all requirements and conditions for certification under MPOETC Act 120, the East Hempfield Township Police Department Police Officer Job Description, and the EHTPD Selection and Hiring policy.
