Please join our agency in congratulating Ptl. Andrew Hampl, recipient of a Certificate of Recognition for December 2025.

On December 7, Ptl. Hampl was dispatched to Planters Row in reference to a person in crisis. Upon arrival, he made contact with the individual’s husband, who initially provided limited information regarding the seriousness of the situation. The husband stated the couple had argued and that his wife had left the residence earlier that morning.

Recognizing the potential severity of the circumstances, Ptl. Hampl continued his investigation by contacting several family members to gather additional information. Through his efforts, he learned the individual had been reported missing and may have been in danger. He promptly notified multiple jurisdictions in the surrounding areas to assist in locating her.

Ptl. Hampl was later advised by the Folly Beach Police Department that the individual had been located after taking actions that required immediate medical attention. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Through his thorough investigation, effective communication with multiple agencies, and diligent follow-up at the hospital, Ptl. Hampl played a critical role in ensuring the individual’s safety.
