On February 14, 2026, at around 6:47 pm, the Columbia Borough Police Department responded to a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of North 5th Street and Chestnut Street. A silver sedan, likely a 2002-2005 Hyundai Sonata, failed to stop at the intersection and collided with another vehicle. The sedan then left the scene without providing any information.
