On Wednesday, February 11th, 2026 around 1233 hours, an HPD officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was associated with an individual who had an active arrest warrant. During the course of the traffic stop, it was confirmed that Scott Myers, the operator of the vehicle, had an active arrest warrant from the State of Delaware. When officers began to take Myers into custody, he immediately shifted the vehicle into drive and tried to escape while the officer was partially in the open driver's window. The vehicle became disabled, however Myers still physically resisted and assaulted the officers attempting to place him in hand cuffs. 

The officers were eventually able to gain control of Myers and place him in handcuffs. He has been arraigned and remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility as he was unable to post bail. This matter is pending a preliminary hearing before MDJ Stephens at District Court 38-1-22.
