On 1/9/26 at approximately 3PM, the Mount Airy Police Department was notified that there is possible suspicious activity occurring in the Woodbine area, in Howard County.  According to the resident, during the evening or early overnight hours, people are knocking on doors and telling the occupants that their cell phone is lost and pinging at their address.  Nearby, another group of individuals as sitting in a vehicle observing this interaction.  According to the resident, the feeling was that these subjects were potentially checking the area to conduct a potential burglary.  The Mount Airy Police Department reminds our community to always check who is at the door before opening it and if anything seems suspicious, call 911 immediately.
