On Sunday, August 10, 2025, the Ephrata Police were dispatched to Weis Markets, 331 N. Reading Rd., Ephrata for a shoplifter not in progress.  Weis reported that on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at approximately 1427 hours, a male later identified by the Ephrata Police Department as Jose Lebron Fernandez, 52, of Lancaster, gathered $369.55 worth of food items and exited the store without attempting to pay.  Charges were later filed on Lebron Fernandez for Retail Theft, F3. A warrant was issued for his arrest. It was later discovered that Lebron Fernandez was incarcerated in York County Prison on other charges, the warrant was sent to York and Lebron Fernandez was later arraigned on the new charges. Lebron Fernandez remains in York County Prison. Lebron Fernandez is presumed innocent.
