On 9/23/2025 at approximately 3:45 PM a representative for Krise Transportation contacted the Lower Paxton Township Bureau of Police to report an incident involving one of their employees possessing a weapon while on a school bus and in the course of their employment.  The representative for Krise Transportation reported that the incident occurred on 09/23/2025 at approximately 2:30 PM at the Central Dauphin Middle School located at 4600 Locust Lane.

This report was taken and assigned to a detective for further investigation.  On 09/24/2025, additional facts and evidence were obtained in relation to the initial report.  The following facts were determined: On 09/23/2025 Tonya Hymon, 39 years old, was in possession of a handgun while on school property and in the course of her duties as a school bus driver.  Hymon had the handgun on her person, in a holster and on her hip.

On 09/25/2025 a criminal complaint was filed against Tonya Hymon, from Steelton, PA for possessing a handgun on a school bus and on school property.  Hymon was charged with one (1) count Weapon on School Property.  The criminal complaint was filed through District Justice 12-1-06 and Hymon is awaiting a preliminary hearing.
