On 9/25/16 at 1054 hrs, Ephrata Police responded to a vehicle accident on West Main Street at Academy drive in Ephrata Borough. A vehicle east bound on Main Street, driven by a 16 year old youth from Akron, turned left in front of an approaching vehicle. The vehicles collided and one struck a traffic light pole. All air bags on both vehicles deployed. Three people were taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Two others went to the hospital to be checked for injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
