The curfew does not apply to: regular members of law enforcement bodies; regular employees of businesses, industries, or government entities while traveling for their jobs; and all emergency workers.
Any person who knowingly violates this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine of up to $500 and/or imprisonment in the county jail for up to 60 days.
Post Storm Safety Reminders
The DeLand Police Department reminds the community to stay off the roads and shelter in place during the peak of the storm to ensure safety for all.
Follow the City of DeLand for up-to-date information.
Post storm, we urge residents to be extremely careful if you encounter downed power lines. Assume any wire you see on the ground has electricity running through it and stay away.
Additionally, Hurricane Milton is expected to bring major flooding to our area. We want to remind residents of the dangers of driving through flooded road ways. If you don’t know how deep the water is, we don’t suggest you drive through it.
