Pennridge Regional Police Officers handled 175 incidents during the week of September 29th to October 5th, 2024. A total of 42 traffic citations and warnings were issued during the same week.
INCIDENTS
Suspicious Activity: Officers responded to the parking lot of a business in the 400 block of Callowhill Road for a report of a vehicle on the property that appears to have been on fire. Officers located a red pickup truck on the property with what appeared to be new fire damage to the interior. The owner of the vehicle was contacted, and the incident is under investigation.
Suspicious Activity: A resident of the 1000 block of Ridge Road reported that a black male had come to the front door in an attempt to obtain voting information from the resident. After finding out that the resident was already registered, he began to ask more personal questions. Due to the resident refusing to answer questions the male left with no further information.
Attempted Fraud: On October 1st, 2024, a resident of the 100 block of Reagan Drive reported that they received a phone call from a male caller with foreign accent reporting that their grand son was involved in a traffic accident and needed $8000. The resident recognized the phone call as a scam and no financial loss occurred.
Criminal Mischief: In the overnight hours of October 3rd, 2024 an unknown actor threw a large rock through the front window of the Sunoco Gas Station, in 900 block of Lawn Ave. Police are still investigating.
Attempted Fraud: On October 4th, 2024, Pennridge Regional Police were contacted by a business owner regarding an unknown actor attempting change the contact information for the business banking accounts. The actor was unsuccessful, and the bank stopped the attempts.
ARRESTS INCIDENTS
Warrant Service: Stephen Osborne, 65 of Perkasie, was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant issued by the Bucks County Sheriff's Office. Osborne was taken into custody at Nocks Café, on October 4th, 2024 following a citizen recognizing him as having a warrant. Osborne was transported to Bucks County Prison and released to their staff to await a court date.
Habitual Driving Offender: Nicholas Donofrio, 44 of Quakertown, was charged with leaving the scene of motor vehicle crash and for having a suspended driver’s license habitual offender after being involved in a traffic accident on Rt. 313 and Mountain View Drive.
Theft By Deception: Damon Rich, 46 of Albany Georgia, has been charged with one count of Theft by Deception and one count of use of a communications device, following a lengthy investigation from May 6th, 2024. Mr. Rich allegedly defrauded a resident of the 500 block of Clymer Ave. on Facebook Marketplace by selling PINK tickets, but never provided the tickets after the resident paid $1000. An arrest warrant has been issued.
TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS
September 30th, 2024: Pennridge Regional Police Department responded to the area of two vehicle traffic accident in the parking lot of Grand View Hospital. Officers found that a Ford Escape had stuck an Acura while it was in the parking lot. Minor damage occurred.
October 1st, 2024: A three-vehicle traffic accident was reported at the intersection of Old Bethlehem Pike and Park Ave. Upon arrival it was determined that a Ram truck had struck a Pontiac and a Chrysler minivan as they were stopped for a vehicle exiting the new construction off of Old Bethlehem. No injuries were reported, and the Pontiac needed to be towed from the scene. The operator of the Ram was cited for following too closely.
October 2nd, 2024: Officers responded to the area of Rt. 313 and Sterner’s Mill Road for a one vehicle accident involving a Subaru Impreza that struck a deer as it crossed the roadway. There was no injuries reported and the vehicle was driven from the scene.
October 3rd, 2024: A one vehicle traffic accident occurred on Bethlehem Pike in the area of Alpha Veterinary. A Honda Accord was traveling east on Bethlehem Pike when it’s operator failed to recognize that a large Freightliner truck was backing into the parking lot. The Honda swerved, left the roadway and went into the ditch where it rolled over. The Honda had to be towed from the scene and the operator of the Honda was issued a traffic citation for driving too fast for conditions.
