In early August, Officer Frank Ember III of Columbia Police proudly assisted Pennsylvania State Police Troop J as a counselor at the Camp Cadet of Lancaster County.
Officer Ember attended Camp Cadet in 2001 as a cadet. This will be Officer Embers 4th Year as a counselor since 2018. Ofc. Ember feels it’s an honor to help influence and build trust with the future generations of cadets, in hopes of making an impact to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the youth of the community.
For those unfamiliar with Camp Cadet, the goal is to introduce participants to the diverse criminal justice system and establish a positive relationship with law enforcement personnel.
The camp provides kids with an understanding of law enforcement activities while living in an atmosphere similar to an actual State Police Academy.
At Camp Cadet of Lancaster County, emphasis is placed on teaching cadets teamwork and the benefits of making good decisions as well as respect for authority.
Camp Cadet of Lancaster County is facilitated by Troopers from Pennsylvania State Police, Troop J, Lancaster and York Stations.
Troopers and officers from local police departments volunteer to serve as camp counselors during this fun filled week.
Camp Cadet of Lancaster County is a FREE summer camp for all participants. Camp is funded entirely through corporate and individual donations.
On behalf of Camp Cadet of Lancaster County, we would like to invite you to support this year’s Annual Designer Purse Bingo fundraiser.
100% of the money raised at the Bingo goes to support both camp programs each year.
This year, Purse Bingo will take place on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at the Millersville VFW Post 7294, 219 Walnut Hill Rd., Millersville, Pa 17551.
